Get To Know Me!

Get To Know Me!

I want to try something different today! I realized that when I first started this blog, I didn’t reveal much about myself. This is supposed to be a blog about me, so that doesn’t make much sense. Instead of rambling off boring facts about myself, I figured I would try something more fun. I am going to share the more unique and quirky things about me that many people don’t know. I hope you enjoy getting to know me!

1. I cut everything I eat.

People always make fun of me when we go out to eat. I even cut my pizza into small pieces and eat it with a fork and knife! I blame this on my mother, who cut everything I ate into tiny pieces when I was a child.

2. I crochet!

During a period of writer’s block, I wanted to still create something, so I taught myself how to crochet. I’m still learning! While most people my age are out partying and drinking, I’m learning how to crochet. I feel like such a grandma sometimes! But I love it. Here are some pictures of what I’ve done!

3. I love, love, love chicken francaise and coffee!

I know. Two very different things, but I am obsessed with them. I would eat chicken francaise every day if I could. I will never be sick of it. Italian food is my absolute favorite! Don’t even get me started on coffee. I am addicted. There is no way around it! Spanish coffee, mocha lattes, iced coffee… I could drink coffee all day.

4. I’ve played softball for thirteen years and volleyball for four.

I am a big sports person. There was a time when I was on five softball teams at once. I’ve played every position, but I love first base. I’ve also coached rec softball for four years. I wish they had fast-pitch teams for girls my age so that I could still play.

5. I’m still in college.

Even though I graduated this past spring, technically I still have student teaching to do in the fall. I double majored, so it took me a little longer to get through school. In December, I will have my B.A. in English, my B.A. in Secondary Education, and my teaching certification. I still can’t believe I was able to publish a book while still in college!

6. I hate shopping!

You may never have thought it was possible for a woman to not like shopping, but it’s true! I DESPISE it. Most of the clothes I have are from the seventh grade. I just don’t see the need to buy more clothes. Shopping it just a bore to me. I’m probably breaking some kind of unwritten girl code, but it’s true! The only shopping I enjoy is book shopping and shopping for other people (especially around Christmas time).

7. My favorite number is 7.

Hence why I am stopping this list at this number! Everything about me revolves around the number seven, down to my shoe size. It all started with my grandfather, who was the most important and influential person in my life before he passed away. His apartment was on the 17th floor, and his room number was 7. Ever since he passed when I was ten, the number appears everywhere for me. On all my sports team, I made sure I was number 7. It holds a lot of meaning for me.

So, I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me! Maybe I’ll do this again some time and reveal more things about myself.
