Home for the Holidays Hop!
WELCOME TO MY STOP ON THE
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS HOP!
The holidays are fast approaching and that means it is time to break out the fat pants! All those yummy fattening foods, dinners, drinks, and desserts. Yum! For this blog hop, I want to give you all a special recipe to add to your dessert table. It is a cookie recipe my aunt used to make every Thanksgiving, and these cookies were/still are my favorite! When I made them for the first time, I had people begging me to make more. The cookies make great gifts for Christmas too. Just put them in a decorated tin and poof–instant delicious present! Everyone loves personal, handmade gifts. And your family and friends won’t even think about returning them!
PECAN TASSIES (a recipe modified from Brown Eyed Baker)
Yield: 48 cookies
Prep Time: 45 minutes
Cook Time: 20 to 25 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Ingredients:
For the Dough: 1 cup unsalted butter, 6 ounces cream cheese, 2 cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling: 1½ cups light brown sugar, 1 cup chopped pecans plus more for sprinkling on top, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare mini muffin pans by greasing cups if it is not a nonstick pan. Set aside.
2. To make the dough, beat together the butter, cream cheese and flour on low speed of a stand or hand mixer until all of the flour is incorporated. Divide the dough into 48 pieces and roll into balls.
3. Either press the dough balls into the muffin cups and up the sides, or flatten the balls slightly with your palm and use a rolling pin to roll into a disk about 2-3 inches in diameter (a little larger than the size of the muffin cup opening) and place into the muffin cups.
4. To make the filling, mix together the brown sugar, chopped pecans, eggs, melted butter and vanilla extra with a spoon and then evenly divide it between the dough-lined mini muffin cups. Top each with some additional chopped pecans.
5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the tops are set. Cool for a few minutes in the muffin cups and then remove to a cooling rack to cool completely. The tassies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature. Add powder sugar (if desired).

Now, onto the really good part–the novel!
HIS HAVEN
The Redemption Series: Book 1
Ignorance isn’t always bliss…
Handsome and diligent Avrum Brenin should have died in the fire with his mother and older brother. Instead, he is saved by the powerful and wealthy immortal, Lord Henri. Placed under his care, Avrum shares in his world of en
The simple task proves to be more complicated than it seems. Haven is disobedient, ungrateful, and hostile, yet she is beautiful and mystifying at the same time. One night, when Avrum stumbles across Haven barely clothed and bound at the wrists, the world he has trusted in unravels before his eyes. He soon discovers that no one—from Lord Henri and Haven to his closest friend, Lysander—are who they seem to be.
Now faced with the truth, will Avrum choose to surrender to the man who rescued him, or will he have the courage to save the woman who captivated him?

A nearby bakery has great tassies, but they’re hugely overpriced and hardly have any filling. So, this recipe is a true public service! Thanks so much for participating…

My grandmother used to make something similar. She always baked about 20 different varieties of cookies for Christmas (She was a caterer).

That’s a recipe that I can make and eat. I couldn’t eat much of it since I’m a diabetic. I enjoyed the excerpt and the cover is stunning.
Also, I just want to thank everyone for participating in the giveaway and offering a helping hand. It means alot to me even if I don’t win.
